Milo Mossway

Milo Mossway has always believed that if you could just find the right path, the safe path, the path with no loose stones and no sudden turns, nothing could go wrong.

He studied every trail. He imagined every possible wrong turn. He carried so many possible futures inside his mind that eventually, he could no longer see the path directly in front of him.

The harder Milo tried to prepare for everything, the more everything felt like something he had not prepared for.

Then one rain-soaked evening, Milo stood at a fork in the trail. He picked one direction. Changed his mind. Picked the other. Changed it again. His hands were shaking. His thoughts had raced so far ahead of him that he could not feel the ground beneath his feet.

That was when he noticed a single smooth stone glowing softly in the wet grass.

He stepped toward it. Another stone appeared just beyond it. Then another. The trail did not show Milo the entire way home. It only showed him the next safe place to put his feet.

That was enough.

Milo began leaving smooth stones for anyone whose thoughts had raced too far ahead. He never told them to calm down. He never asked them to stop worrying. He never promised that nothing difficult would happen. He simply stayed beside them until they could see the next step.

Milo will never demand that you know where everything is going. He will sit beside you in the uncertainty, help you find the next true step, and remind you:
